Model-journalism: Making and Photography with Josh Jordan, July 20, 2020

Faculty Josh Jordan leads the workshop Model-journalism: Making and Photography.

Photography is both a 2D technique for representing your design, as well as means for demarking and sharing your point (or field, as it were) of view. We speak of the lens as both an optical device, and as a way of describing your own framework for approaching a question or issue. This workshop serves as a how-to on both setting up a home or studio-based photography studio, with lessons on both optics and photo techniques. In addition to the technical information, Jordan will show and discuss the role of photography and models in architectural representation in both the academy and profession, and how photographs and models have tracked with broader ideas, inventions, and political practices of design.

This lecture is part of a series given during the Summer 2020 Introduction to Architecture program.
