Mariabruna Fabrizi, Fosco Lucarelli [Microcities / Socks-studio], “Inner Space”

“Inner Space” is part of an ongoing research project into the construction of the architectural imagination which the authors have pursued in the last decade through different media. Through a website and a visual atlas (socks-studio.com), an architectural practice (Microcities), teaching activity and the curating of an exhibition at Lisbon Triennale 2019, the authors have set out to investigate the space between inner and outer reality, looking for those moments in which the two realms interact most vividly.

M.Fabrizi and F.Lucarelli are two architects, educators and curators. They are currently based in Paris where they have founded the practice Microcities and the website Socks-studio. They taught design studios and theory courses at the Éav&t, in Paris, at the EPFL in Lausanne and at the MIARD in Rotterdam. F.Lucarelli was 2017-18 Garofalo fellow at the UIC School of Architecture in Chicago; he is the recipient of a grant from the Graham Foundation and he was a 2018 fellow at the American Academy in Rome. M.Fabrizi is currently head of the Architectural Drawing and Representation Department at the Éav&t, in Paris. Fabrizi and Lucarelli have been guest-curators at the 2016 Lisbon Architecture Biennale. Currently, they are curating the exhibition “Inner Space” for the Lisbon Triennale 2019. Their works have been awarded and exhibited in New York, Paris, Rome, Orléans, Seoul, Chicago.
