Sir Christopher Wren’s motivations and passions led him to envisage all his undertakings on a scale bigger, better, and more enduring than anything that had gone before. In her biography of Sir Christopher Wren, On a Grander Scale, Lisa Jardine set out to understand both the man and his work. She describes this lecture as an excursus around the complexity of writing biography.
Lisa Jardine is Director of the Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB) Research Centre for Editing Lives and Letters, Professor of Renaissance Studies at Queen Mary, University of London and an Honorary Fellow of Kings College, Cambridge.
