How to Make a Spoken Word Poem in Adobe Premiere Pro | Adobe Creative Cloud



Convert speech to text, add a beat, and export different sizes to create a personal poetry slam.

Transcribe Audio:

1. Open the sample project in Adobe Premiere Pro.
2. Go to Window – Workspaces – Captions.
3. In the Text panel, under the Captions tab, click Transcribe Sequence.
4. In the Create Transcript dialog box, select the audio track you want to create captions for, then click Transcribe.

Create Captions:

1. Once the transcript appears, click the Create Captions button.
2. Click Create in the dialog box.

Edit Captions:

1. Make any necessary adjustments to spelling, punctuation, and line breaks by double-clicking each caption.
2. Change the style of your text in the Essential Graphics panel (Window – Essential Graphics).

*Tip: You can even split captions if you want them to appear separately on the screen.

Add Background Music:

1. In the Essential Sound panel (Window – Essential Sound), filter Adobe Stock tracks by mood or genre.
2. Once you’ve chosen your music, drag it to the Timeline.

*Tip: We chose the Relaxing mood and used Ambient Sun. You can adjust the clip volume in the Essential Sound Edit tab.

Resize the Frame:

1. Right-click the sequence in the project panel and select Auto Reframe Sequence.
2. Select your Target Aspect Ratio.
3. Adjust the Motion Tracking to Slower Motion so the video looks smooth.
4. Click Create.

*Tip: We used Vertical 9:16 for mobile.
