When architects Andrea Del Pedro Pera and Ylenia Rose Testore discovered they were expecting their son Aris, the plans for their new home for two suddenly had to make room for three. Working through Andrea’s practice ATOMAA, the couple opened up the once dark and compartmentalised apartment to embrace light, flexibility, and connection between spaces. The kitchen and bathroom were relocated, allowing a generous stainless steel kitchen to become the heart of the home, while sliding timber screens inspired by the playful colours and patterns of the 1960s and 70s hide the bathroom and allow the bedroom to open directly onto the living area. Original terrazzo floors are paired with custom joinery, mirrored storage, and multifunctional furniture that can adapt as the family grows.
