Hermione Wiltshire has employed many materials and processes to produce an art that is predominantly sculptural. Often using materials in a liquid state, she allows shapes to form outside of the artists control. In this lecture, she presents her work (and the work of other artists) as a means of discussing space, sexuality and the body. Through an exploration of ‘the self and the constitution of self in the artist’, Wiltshire engages with the ways in which gender is inscribed in language. Her work has been exhibited widely in Britain and Europe.2
