Gunnar Birkerts: Objective architecture (1980)

Gunnar Birkerts argues that architecture can become purely objective, ultimately removing the architect from the work. He reviews his background, beliefs, influences, and discusses a few of his projects to illustrate his views about the objective nature of ruling systems, materiality, house planning, and final
forms. The lecture ends with Birkerts answering questions from the audience; ultimately admitting his desire to create order from disorder.
