In this tutorial, you will learn how to create different types of Spiral Surfaces in Grasshopper. We will cover multiple approaches on how you can generate them that can be used as a base geometry for spiral staircases, ramps, landscape design, and many other things.
First, we will teach you how to use Point Polar component that is an essential element in the process of creating all sorts of spiral curves and surfaces. Once we go through it, we will cover the making of Spiral Ramp (Helix Surface) and two types of Conical Spiral Surfaces.
An extended version of this tutorial contains a couple of additional tips and tricks on how to combine the Golden Ratio in the process of creating Spiral Surface.
