From the Archive is a series in which we highlight some of the +1,300 artist interviews we have produced over the past 13 years while reminiscing about some of our favorite moments and meetings.
In this 2017 interview, George Condo explains that anyone who has anything on their mind and finds a way to materialize it can be an artist.
George Condo (b. 1957) is an American contemporary visual artist who works in painting, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking. Condo mixes input from art history’s masters—such as Velasquez, Manet, and Picasso—with elements of American Pop Art.
George Condo was interviewed by Kasper Bech Dyg at his studio in Soho, New York City in September 2017.
