Francis Upritchard at the Venice Biennale 2009 | TateShots

New Zealand-born, London-based artist Francis Upritchard is represented her country at 2009’s Biennale.
Taking over three rooms of a palazzo, ‘Save Yourself’ is an imaginary landscape populated by strange miniature figures, who seem to belong both in the past and the future. In this film, Francis talks us through the exhibition, and explains what motivates her.
