Directors’ Cuts: Long Distance Information



Scottish filmmaker and Jesus & Mary Chain bassist Douglas Hart’s black comedy explores the strained relationship between a father and son, featuring music by Gruff Rhys of the Super Furry Animals. Here, London-based Hart talks about the project:

“The film is based on my experience of leaving my hometown to start a band, much to the dismay of my father. I was obsessed with movies and TV from an early age, and my real dream was to somehow find work in those industries. No one in my immediate universe had such a job—a fact that was underlined by my school careers officer who, when I told him about my ambitions, presumed I meant I wanted to be a TV repair man or a cinema projectionist.” Read more on NOWNESS – http://bit.ly/2i1ErQI
