Dezeen explores postmodernist landmark The Cosmic House

Dezeen takes a look inside postmodernist masterpiece The Cosmic House.

Located in London’s Holland Park, The Cosmic House is a Grade I listed house and educational foundation designed by architect and critic Charles Jencks, alongside his partner, the artist and garden designer Maggie Keswick Jencks.

The house was created as a playful experiment and manifesto of postmodernism, designed to be a physical representation of Charles’s study, filled with games, double meanings and visual and verbal puns.

The Cosmic House also operates as an educational charity, running an ambitious programme of exhibitions, residencies, artistic collaborations and educational engagements with local schools and global universities, following in the spirit of its founder.
