This tutorial will demonstrate how to create a custom long shadow effect in minutes using Adobe Photoshop. This method uses a custom ‘action’ that will enable you to instantly use this effect again in future, saving you a lot of time. Typically, creating a long shadow effect often involves rasterising the shadow. However, this technique uses Smart Objects, and clearly demonstrates why they are a must-know feature for any Photoshop user. So by the end of the video you will be able to update the font style, size and other properties, and the long shadow effect will also be updated together with the text.
