Cielo Celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a Double Award
The Catini Collection by CIELO won the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” and the “Red Dot” 2017
Roma, Italy, 2017-05-01 –
CIELO once again reaffirms its standing as one of the big protagonists of the global stage of design. The consecration of the company’s leadership was the dual prestigious awards obtained: the Catini Collection bearing the signatures of Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Pezzano received in the Catino Doppio, the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award, while the Catino Tondo version won the “Red Dot” at the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017.
The CIELO signature design is thus an authority in the world of the best tradition of the “Made in Italy” production of ceramic sanitary ware, the perfect expression of a manufacturing approach able to develop in the encounter with technology and the most innovative design.
The Company which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, was able to leave an indelible mark in the history of bathroom furnishing in just a few years, thanks to a constant stylistic research and an innovative approach in the choice of the forms and material that gave rise to an exclusive collection of sanitary items, washbasins, shower trays and urinals that have revolutionized the concept of ceramic bathroom furnishing. It was a revolution which was skilfully interpreted as ceramics beyond the usual limits, proposed to the market with unedited shapes, dimensions, depths, surfaces and colours.
These Collections express, exalt and found an amazing capacity to process the material with a contemporary and innovative design, and are the fruit of a tailored approach, the strong bond with the artisanal values and a total product quality, that have always been the focus of corporate research. These unique products of inimitable quality, as testified to by the numerous awards received throughout the years, consist of 18 international prizes, among which were two publications in the ADI Design Index, three German Design Awards, four Good Design Awards, four Red Dots, the MIAW: MUUZ International Award and the ICFF Editors Award.
Designed by Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Pezzano, the Catini Collection draws from the past to reinterpret in a modern key, one of the icons of bathroom furnishing of the early 20th century.
The undisputed protagonist of the collection is ceramics, which due to the Company’s extraordinary processing capacity, becomes an innovative and original object that can recount, through a contemporary language, the beauty of remembrance. Highly customised and produced with the best Italian materials, the Catini Collection is available in three variants: round, oval and double. Proposed with or without preset fixtures for the taps and fittings, the ceramic washbasins integrate harmonically with elegant steel frameworks, convenient tops in ceramics or marble or practical drawers in wood. Both the washbasins and tops can be customized in 16 various nuances of the “Terre di CIELO” colour range.
Instituted in 1955, the Red Dot is one of the most important International acknowledgements in the world of design. The jury, composed of 40 authoritative, international advocates in the world of design, awarded the CIELO products for their design quality and innovation, chosen out of thousands of projects from 54 countries.
About Ceramica Cielo
Cielo is based in the Civita Castellana district, an Etruscan land of age-old artistic traditions, and a major center of ceramic art until the mid-20th century. It was then, at the start of the 20th century, that a master craftsman named Antonio Coramusi was the first to start the production of ceramic sanitary fixtures. It is from this land and these noble origins that Cielo came to be a “Made-in-Italy workshop,” drawing on dedicated stylistic exploration and an innovative approach to selecting materials and forms to create exclusive collections of sanitary fixtures, washbasins, shower trays, bathtubs and urinals that have dramatically shifted how ceramic bathroom furnishings are conceived.
Cielo has carried forward its groundbreaking approach by bringing ceramic beyond the bounds of the known, offering the market absolutely new shapes, sizes, thicknesses, surfaces, and colours. Unique collections express the full breadth of its extraordinary skill at working the material joined with contemporary, innovative design.
Its collections are the result of a tailor-made approach, closely bound with the values of craftsmanship and total product quality — always the center of its research.
