Lecture date: 2005-10-25
Inventor Chuck Hoberman explores self-transformation as a major new frontier in design. Looking first to nature, where fully three-dimensional natural organisms undergo smooth and continuous transformation which is both repeatable and reversible, Hoberman attempts to create a designed object which can do the same. His projects have ranged from the architectural to the mass-produced.
This lecture features Hoberman as the keynote speaker at the end of the last day of the Surface Intelligence: Ambient & Augmented Architectures Symposium.
