Charles Jencks – Le Corbusier and the Continual Revolution

Tracing the occasionally overlapping patterns of five phases in Le Corbusier’s protean career, Charles Jencks explores the significance of books, women, and painting to the processes of continual revolution in Le Corbusier’s work.

Charles Jencks taught at the AA for many years. He is an architect, designer, and author of numerous books including The Language of Post-Modern Architecture; Architecture Today; The Architecture of the Jumping Universe, as well as Le Corbusier and the Continual Revolution in Architecture.

NB: This lecture was followed by a conference on 10/03/2001 entitled Le Corbusier: The Architecture of Reinvention (coinciding with an AA exhibition of the same title).
