Casablanca and Chandigarh: an audio slideshow

Maristella Casciato and Tom Avermaete are the curators of the Canadian Centre for Architecture’s new exhibition about Casablanca and Chandigarh. They present a new history of modern urbanism based on two major experiments in the Global South during a period of decolonisation. In this short audio slideshow they consider anew the relationship between local conditions and the international language of modern architecture, particularly in the context of the political and economic cooperation favoured by the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, and other international bodies. Subtitles to come.
