Atlas of Material Worlds: Mapping the Agency of Matter for a New Landscape Practice is a highly designed narrative atlas illustrating the agency of non-living materials with unique, ubiquitous, and often hidden influence on our daily lives during a time of great change. The exhibition will consist of material samples of each of the book’s seven chapters–uranium, lithium, crude, clay, sand, mud, and metabolite—each sample triggering an augmented reality (AR) visualization on a user’s phone or tablet that explores the geographies, industries, and socio-ecological entanglements that exist between human bodies and cultures and the elemental material. Gallery opening will include sales of signed copies of Atlas of Material Worlds.
The exhibition runs from Friday October 15 – Friday December 17, 2021.
