Arpita Singh: Remembering | Serpentine

Four people reflect on a work in Arpita Singh’s exhibition _Remembering,_ each bringing their own meanings, curiosities, perspectives, and questions. The artist encourages different interpretations by resisting a fixed meaning behind her work.

Over six prolific decades, Singh creates paintings which centre on her emotional and psychological state, drawing from Bengali folk art and Indian stories, interwoven with experiences of social upheaval and global conflict.

Remembering is on view at Serpentine North through 27 July 2025. To learn more about the exhibition, visit https://www.serpentinegalleries.org/whats-on/arpita-singh-remembering/.
