Prestigious Award Recipients to be Celebrated at May 12th Gala in NYC

Architizer, the Web’s largest platform for architecture, announces the
winners of the fourth Annual Architizer A+Awards, honoring the best architecture, spaces, and products
from across the globe. This year’s winners include Bohlin Cywinski Jackson’s Apple store in Palo Alto; Rafael de Cárdenas LTD.’s Black Ocean Firehouse in New York; Phaedrus Studio’s Odin Bar + Café in Toronto, Sage and Coombe Architects’ Ocean Breeze Track and Field House in Staten Island, and Zaha Hadid Architects’ Messner Mountain Museum Corones in Italy. This year, the A+Awards received thousands of entries from more than 95 countries. A Jury-selected winner
and a popular choice winner are awarded in each of the 113 categories. Popular choice winners were
determined by the more than 400,000 public votes cast from more than 100 countries and territories.
Over 400 luminaries from the worlds of architecture, art, and design will gather for the A+ Awards gala on May 12th at Highline Stages in New York City. “The A+ gala is more than just a party. It represents a moment for us to stand up and champion our art, recognizing the transformational role that architecture plays in our lives,” says Architizer CEO Marc Kushner. “This year we are expanding the fame, creating an even wider set of categories, celebrating the buildings and structures that impact our world, as well as the products and material used to create them.”
In collaboration with its partners, The Wall Street Journal, WSJ. Magazine, Dwell, the Webby Awards,
Phaidon, and Cool Hunting, and with support from sponsors including LEGO, Sunbrella, and Audemars
Piguet, the A+Awards reaches an audience of more than 300 million via media outlets across the globe.
Winners from the Typology and +Plus Categories will be featured in a stunning hardbound book published b Phaidon, packed with full-color images and insightful commentary by the creators of each project.
