Belgian artist Ann Veronica Janssens is known for her intriguing experiments around perception and light. Watch as Janssens – in the company of a Professor in Physics, Kristine Niss – shows us her experiment in which she uses liquids to draw a circle without tools “at the limit of what’s visible.”
“It’s also a sculpture that you can recreate. A bit like changing the flowers’ water, you redo the sculpture,” Janssens says of ‘Transparent Fantasy’ (2016).
Ann Veronica Janssens (b. 1956) creates installations, projections, immersive environments, urban interventions, and sculptures that explore the sensory experience of reality. Her work has been shown at the Lyon Biennale, France, the 48th Venice Biennale, Italy, at the Hayward Gallery and Tate Modern in London, UK, the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, USA and at the Grand Palais in Paris, France. She lives and works in Belgium.
