Norwegian artist AK Dolven pays hommage to her countryman Edward Munch
Munch’s paintings have been a source of fascination and inspiration for
many contemporary artists. AK Dolven tells TateShots that “As a
Norwegian you are born with Munch, it is almost like the midnight sun,
it is just part of being Norwegian”. Here she talks about Munch’s
influence and her own artistic response to iconic paintings such as
Puberty, Girl with a Cigarette and The Kiss.
