OMA’s buildings and masterplans around the world insist on intelligent forms while inventing new possibilities for content and everyday use.

Shohei Shigematsu is a Partner and the Director of OMA New York. He has overseen the completion of Milstein Hall at Cornell University, as well as the construction of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. Mr. Shigematsu is currently leading the design of the Marina Abramovic Institute for the Preservation of Performance Art in upstate New York, the Miami Beach Convention Center and a mixed use complex in Santa Monica. Having led the team that won the CCTV Headquarters design competition in Beijing, he served as project architect until the end of design development. Mr. Shigematsu also directed OMA’s winning competition entry for the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Headquarters. He is a visiting faculty member at Harvard University, Columbia University and Cornell University.
