Emmanuel Gallina: the elegance of simplicity
Emmanuel Gallina
For 2012 Milan’s international furniture fair, Emmanuel Gallina, French designer based between Milan and Bordeaux , makes of authenticity his main theme.
Milan, Italy, 2012-04-04 –
With the Tapparelle collection for Colé, he reinterprets the old office furniture using wood shutters. The delicate line and the choice of soft colours make this piece a contemporary and refined collection. This collection will be presented in three different places. With Corteccia, he proposes a kitchen where tradition mixes with modernity. Overed in a wood bark and natural stone, Corteccia offers a warm and convivial space. This taste for craftsmanship shows through the use of natural materials like marble for the Birdy light collection for Forestier which will be in the spotlight at Meetmyproject, or the hand-made Connexions wool carpets for Nodus. Finally, new compositions for Fast’s Aikana outdoor couch will be proposed, a modular system already presented last year. .
With this new collection made of a desk and drawers, Emanuel Gallina takes us into the writer’s atmosphere.
The desk’s natural material mix of wood and leather, confers a warm and private mood to this writing space.
The layout of the functional areas as well as the size of this piece, ease the appropriation of the user.
As a testimony, Emmanuel presents us a modern reinterpretation of the antique English secretaire, where one can organize, file and hide.
This contemporary collection is emphasized by the welcoming lines, a mix of soft colours and the adaptability to new technologies through the integration of nomad objects like a laptops, smartphones, etc.

A group of elements that have modular features too – inspired by the atmosphere of the 50s – created and conceived for both indoor and outdoor use so that living and outdoor areas can be furnished and set up in harmony with available space and personal taste. Elegance and simplicity and extremely flexible use, accentuated by a series of complementary accessories. The interplay of form and design gives the system a sense of comfort, and the practical accessories help enhance the feeling of wellbeing.
Materials: Structure in aluminium and special outdoor fabric for cuscions. Carpets Connexions, design Emmanuel Gallina with Clara Giardina for Nodus
Material: wool
Emmanuel Gallina and Clara Giardina suggest through these carpets and articulation of territories
inside an intimate space.
They propose contemporary silhouettes similar to geographic decoupage, on which frameworks appear, intertwine, superimpose like networks, connexions and frontiers.
They chose soft colours and thickness contrasts that create a feeling of density and three-dimensional. They use lines to create vibration areas.
It is then through a cartographic language that these two young designers express Nodus’ know-how.
A set of lights in the language purely linear. An impression of weightlessness ideograms that are emerging through sleek lines coming in to a solid base.
These lights appear as light lines suspended creating spaces and intimate microcosms.
With this collection, designer Emmanuel Gallina plays on the contrast line / volume, and then composed with materials and forms of sweet harmony.
A collection that stands out for its elegance of a delicate discretion!
Materials: Marble & white painted metal.
Lighting source: Led
