Lecture 213 – Topographic Physical Models (Spring 2016)

A complete overview of creating the files necessary to build a 3D physical model of topography. Includes bringing a mesh into Rhino from SketchUp and converting that mesh to a NURBS surface. Continues with how to contour the NURBS surface with the thickness of your physical material (to scale) and then build stepping sides for your model. Concludes with instruction on how to build the AutoCAD file (exported from Rhino) necessary to laser cut the pieces.
