Ukrainian cities, analogous to the entire Central-Eastern European region, has repeatedly undergone re-structuration of economies, identities and political systems. The inherited patterns how cities should be designed and managed are mostly outdated – and new visions not yet sufficiently defined. Following its mission for more than a decade, this year’s CANactions Festival returns to its core founding mission: to develop new paradigms in order to revitalize communities and physical structures through innovative formats, international collaboration and multi-disciplinarity.
The intense and prototypical program of the CANactions Festival, settled in the unique urban laboratory of Kiev’s most complex and potent urban zones, aspires to become itself a transformative power for the city, eliminating the gap between architecture, urban design and their societal impacts. We invite you to become active agents of the power of our mission and join our lectures series, discussions, urban tours, films, exhibitions, workshops, and many more. Only together we can create new paradigms on how to plan, design, develop and run our cities.
