Join the Sheffield Society of Architects for their virtual building tour of the Mercia School. The live tour, held on 16 March 2021, was presented by Andrea Ashley from Bond Bryan and was followed by a Q&A session.
The Mercia School is a 1,200 place secondary school. A surprising discovery behind a screen of trees, the striking school is winner of the RIBA Yorkshire Award 2019. The design is inspired by its site and via a simple palette of materials it sits harmoniously within the parkland setting. Through sustainable design principles and renewable energy, it has achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.
