In this video I show you how to model a fireplace in Revit.
I start of in Photoshop, where I make the images for the fire material in Revit and the cutout for that material.
The actual Fireplace Family is modeled as a wall based family. I model a void i in the wall and all the fireplace geometry. then I make the fire material using photos form Photoshop.
At the end I create a light source family, by using a Light fixture family template and load that as a nested family.

Photoshop Shortcuts:
Ctrl + A – Select all
Ctrl + T – Transform

Revit Shortcuts:
UN – Project Units
CS – Create Similar
RP – Reference Plane
Al – Align
TR – Trim/Extend
AR – Array
CO – Copy
