Is UNESCO World Heritage Designation a good thing? Or could it potentially do more harm to the very sites it intends to protect? Betty just wanted to do some research on how to better conserve local heritage architecture in Toronto and ended up going down a rabbit hole where she learned a bunch of stuff about how UNESCO works. She currently concludes that it is in crisis.
