Water Systems in Ancient Greece and Rome: a Research Residency at Dumbarton Oaks

The School of Landscape Architecture presents Todd Gilens in one of a series of lectures in San Francisco. The way in which water is managed today was established long ago in the urban centers of the ancient world. We now face many challenges in understanding, communicating and managing water resources. Earlier periods of time highlight fundamental principles hidden beneath modern achievements. Todd shares his experiences in research and reflections on this topic made during a four-week research residency at Dumbarton Oaks library in Washington DC.
