Dezeen Club hosted its first metaverse meetup within spatial video-chat platform Gather to discuss the rise of virtual worlds.

Users could listen to a panel of speakers discuss the cutting edge of VR and the metaverse, enjoy live performances from various musicians, and explore a virtual rooftop bar manned by Maurizio Stocchetto of Bar Basso Milan.

During the panel Dezeen’s founder and editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs spoke with Andrés Reisinger, Fredrik Hellberg and Lara Lesmes of Space Popular, and Amber Jae Slooten about the future of virtual worlds and digital design. 

Speakers discussed questions such as the influence of virtual realities on our physical selves.
