Vision Zero: Bringing an end to death and serious injury on our streets



Professor Whitelegg authored the Department for Transport funded report on Vision Zero 2006. Vision Zero is a multinational road traffic safety project which aims to achieve a system with no fatalities or serious injuries in road traffic or on our streets. It has been adopted in Sweden since 1997 it is now policy in many US cities and launched in the UK in 2015. Professor Whitelegg has been a Lancashire County Councillor for 8 years and a consultant for the World Health Organisation on pedestrian safety.
