Utzon Lecture ‘The Tipping Point: Cities on the Edge’ by Sue Holliday

Our cities are growing and yet we continue to think of them as they were 20 years ago. We (the community, the government, the policymakers) have not fessed up to the impact of the population growth that has happened and will continue to happen and to their needs in a very large city. Sydney will be 8million people in no time. Our infrastructure was built for a city of 3m people. We are at a tipping point of decision making about the future of the city. If it is to work for all of our communities, we must make urgent investments in social, physical and economic infrastructure. Holliday will discuss 6 key things that we need to do urgently if we are not to lose our reputation as a liveable, sustainable and workable city. – See more at: https://www.be.unsw.edu.au/events/utzon-lecture-tipping-point-cities-edge#sthash.lsFkQPMv.dpuf
