Urban Playspaces Conference: Elger Blitz

Elger Blitz is the founder and senior designer at Carve, a design and engineering bureau that focuses on the planning and development of public space, particularly for children and young people. He accidentally got involved in designing playgrounds in the early nineties and has more than fifteen years of experience in relevant projects in public space. Blitz’s work is characterized as cross-disciplinary and fresh, incorporating several different scales and disciplines to anticipate demands and trends of children and youth. He is a guest lecturer at various universities in the Netherlands and abroad, teaching unconventional approaches to designing for youth.
