This is a Revit house structural tutorial series. This series is about creating a timber framed house in Revit using structral timber components to support the bricks, floors and windows in the model.
Part 1 – Foundations and Substructures
You will learn to create the structural concrete foundations and substructure for the external and internal walls, and also a good number of Revit tools to help with model creation.
Part 2 – Beam Systems & Flooring
You will learn to create the floor joists that are supported by the structural concrete foundations and substructure, and the flooring that sits on the joists, and also a good number of Revit tools to help with model creation.
Part 3 – Lintels & Pitched Wall
You will learn to create lintels to support the weight of bricks above the windows and door, as windows and doors are not meant to support a heavy load of masonry. You will also learn to reshape a wall to make them pitched.
Part 4 – Stairs & Structure
You will learn to create stairs or a staircase which will clash with the beam system on the upper level. In this tutorial, we are going to change the beam system to accomodate the stairs, and we are going to ensure that the stairs reach from the ground floor to the upper floor while keeping human comfort and dimensions in mind. Not only that, we are going to make use of COLUMNS to help reinforce and support the stairs at it’s weak points.
Part 5 – Truss Roof Structure
You will learn to create a truss roof structure and adjoining smaller timber roof structures to create a network of timber roof structure. A timber roof structure is made up of an external frame, trusses, purlins, rafters and battens (and metal plats at the joints). This in-depth tutorial will show you exactly step by step on how to create this so that you can be confident about working with Revit.
