Learn the fundamentals of SketchUp by following along with this video series. Each video is a mini-project that will introduce new tools and essential techniques to the SketchUp work flow.
Part 1 – This is Part 1, and will introduce you to the navigation tools so you can orbit, pan and zoom around your model, then create a simple house with a few drawing and modification tools.
Part 2 – This is Part 2, and will accelerate your process by creating a more detailed house with some drawing tips and the Follow Me and Offset tools.
Part 3 – This is Part 3, which focuses on an interior space. You will use the Tape Measure tool to create reference edges, learn more about the Offset and Push/Pull tools, copy objects and finally paint surfaces and bring in additional models from the 3D Warehouse.
Part 4 – In Part 4 we create a hallway table to emphasize the use of groups and components in SketchUp. We’ll copy and mirror parts of the table and create detail and accuracy.
Getting Started with LayOut – LayOut is part of SketchUp Pro, designed to make printing, presenting and documenting your SketchUp models fast and easy. This video covers the basics of bringing a SketchUp model into LayOut.
