Grahame Shane, Professor in Columbia GSAPP’s Urban Design Program speaks with Johannes Pointl, who gave a lecture at the recent event “UD Sessions: The Expanded Field of Urban Design” featuring alumni of the Urban Design Program. Johannes Pointl is a practicing architect, urban designer, and researcher. He holds a professional degree in architecture from TU Graz and an MSc in Architecture and Urban Design from GSAPP. From 2012 to 2014 he worked as a project manager at SCAPE studio in New York while also teaching as an adjunct assistant professor at GSAPP. Currently he is an assistant professor at TU Wien and a project manager at the architecture and urban design office Studiovlay in Vienna, where he directs the design and implementation of a mixed-use co-working and co-housing tower.
