Interboro is an award-winning architecture, urban design, and planning firm based in Brooklyn, New York and Detroit, Michigan. The firm, founded by Tobias Armborst, Daniel D’Oca and Georgeen Theodore in 2002, works at all scales, from the building and neighborhood to the city and region. Their services include architectural design, public space design, neighborhood, city, and regional planning, and community engagement and outreach. Their projects include work for cultural institutions (MoMA), universities (Harvard), federal agencies (Housing and Urban Development), local government agencies (New York City Parks Department, Cambridge Community Development Department, Detroit Planning and Development Department), and private developers. Known for their participatory, place-specific approach that helps build consensus around complex projects, they are leading experts in public space design and community engagement.
Tobias Armborst is an architect and urban designer. He received a Diplom Ingenieur in Architecture from RWTH Aachen and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Harvard Design School. He is Associate Professor of Architecture and Urban Studies at Vassar College. Daniel D’Oca is an urban planner. He is an Associate Professor in Practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he received a Master in Urban Planning degree. Georgeen Theodore is a registered architect and urban designer. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Harvard Design School. She is Professor and Director of the Infrastructure Planning Program at New Jersey Institute of Technology’s School of Architecture.
