Derek Blasberg hosts a video highlighting Sotheby’s auction ‘To Beirut With Love’, which will provide much-needed relief and funds to the people of Lebanon after the fatal explosion that ripped through its capital in August 2020.
In this collaboration with Creatives For Lebanon and Art For Beirut, two not-for-profit organizations created by the Lebanese diaspora in the wake of the blast, Blasberg takes us through some of the items highlighted in the charity auction. Donated lots include Geri Horner’s (née Halliwell) iconic sequined Spice Girls outfit, Emma Stone’s Academy Award dress, and Pete Townshend’s Gibson guitar.
This film also features video messages of solidarity and support from the donors, of whom include Elie Saab, Carine Roitfeld, Tamara Ralph of Ralph & Russo, Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, Christian Louboutin, Nicolas Jebran, Reem Acra, Vogue’s Carol Wolton and Giambatista Valli, and Egyptian actress and singer Sherihan.
