This Minimalist 29m2 Micro Apartment Feels Like An Urban Cabin

When architect Timothy Yee stumbled across this ground floor micro-apartment in Richmond for auction, he knew this was the apartment for him. Timothy wanted to use this apartment as a way to explore how you could live comfortably in small spaces, with this apartment measuring around 29m2 (312sqft).

Timothy designed the interior to feel like a cabin, using plywood and timber throughout, from floors to walls, to even the ceiling. Storage is always a challenge for apartments, and so he designed a wall of storage that sits between the bedroom and bathroom and the main living space. He was also interested in exploring the hybrid home/hotel idea, where elements of a hotel work with elements of home, to feel as though you’re always travelling.
