In the Spring semester 2017 SCI-Arc hosted an advanced design studio taught by Frank Gehry and Gehry Partners addressing the future of prisons and issues of incarceration. The studio was part of a broader collaborative project between Gehry Partners, Impact Justice, and A New Way of Life. On April 21st Frank Gehry, his co-instructors, and guests reviewed the studio’s final models and discussed the students’ proposals to re-imagine what we now refer to as “prison” for a new era.
