Terry Rosenberg – The Map and the Diagram

Lecture date: 1997-12-03

Part of a lecture series by the painter Terry Rosenberg dealing with drawing and image making as a source of investigation. Suggestive of flatness and of an objective gaze, both the map and the diagram seem to offer examples of congruence between the image and its support. Rosenberg explores the different layers of spatial perception and the dynamic power relations at work in such visual representations.

Terry Rosenberg is a lecturer in Design at Goldsmiths College, UCL. He has lectured in Fine Art and Design in a number of art schools in London, including a five-year period at the RCA.
