IKEA’s innovation lab, Space10, has designed seven autonomous vehicle concepts, including a moving cafe and a farm on wheels, to envision how self-driving cars could impact our everyday life once they become ubiquitous.
Space10 worked with visual trend lab Foam Studio to design the seven portable spaces: an office, a cafe, a healthcare space, a farm, an entertainment space, a hotel and a pop-up shop.
The Spaces on Wheels project aims to challenge the traditional idea of the car by demonstrating the various ways that autonomous vehicles could support our daily activities, while still transporting users from one place to another.
