Shona Kitchen, “Hybrid Landscapes”

02/04/2016
Hosted by the Design and Computation Group
Department of Architecture

Introduction: Theodora Vardouli, PhD, Design & Computation
Organized by Theodora Vardouli and Professor Terry Knight

The work interrogates everyday technologies that form and inform the multiplicity of worlds we live in today – from social networking, anomalies, control, mediation and political identities. The work positions itself where the poetic crosses between science fiction(s) and built realities through a range of mediums/fields. The goal is to catalyze a questioning of how technology affects our perception of past, present and future and seeks to create space for audiences to reflect on the social, psychological, and cultural relationships that are the result of life supported and surrounded by technology.
