RIBA Gulf Social Media Student Campaign: Promoting the importance of architecture – Heba

Heba Hejji, from Abu Dhabi University, talks about how culture impacts the architecture community in Abu Dhabi.

“An important side to architecture in any country involves the economic viability of a project. We must assess how the project will stick to its allocated budget and how it will remain in the long term with its material use, construction methods etc. Architecture projects in the UAE are especially driven by economic sustainability as the boldness and extravagance that is strived for calls for higher budgets.” – Heba Hejji

This video was submitted by Hebi Hejji as part of the RIBA Gulf Social Media Student Campaign.

The RIBA Gulf Social Media Student Campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of social, cultural, and economic factors in architecture through social media engagement with students, architects, and built environment professionals.
