RIBA for Clients – Workplace

Work for architects is largely either fitouts for short-term tenants – where the business occupier is usually known – or speculative developer renovations of existing buildings and newbuild shell-and cores, where the users are often unknown. In that sense, the contemporary office is best conceived as an ever-changing experience rather than a single solution.

Through a structured programme of roundtables and one to one interviews, the RIBA has been gathering and sharing feedback from clients as to how architects can improve their services.

We have fed back to the profession through a series of articles in RIBA Journal and have completed more than 70 one-to-one filmed interviews with clients, which have been published on https://www.architecture.com/RIBA/Professionalsupport/RIBAforclients/RIBAforclients.aspx The findings were summarised in a special report Client and Architect: developing the essential relationship which was launched in September 2015 by Past President Stephen Hodder MBE.
