RIBA for Clients – Heritage

As well as their cultural and social value, heritage buildings contribute significantly to the British economy. This adds considerable impetus to their owners’ motivation to commission design work for them, cheering news for architects with relevant expertise.

Through a structured programme of roundtables and one to one interviews, the RIBA has been gathering and sharing feedback from clients as to how architects can improve their services.

We have fed back to the profession through a series of articles in RIBA Journal and have completed more than 70 one-to-one filmed interviews with clients, which have been published on https://www.architecture.com/RIBA/Professionalsupport/RIBAforclients/RIBAforclients.aspx The findings were summarised in a special report Client and Architect: developing the essential relationship which was launched in September 2015 by Past President Stephen Hodder MBE.
