reSITE Small Talk with Andrew Tuck & Adam Gebrian

Andrew Tuck is the founding editor of the global magazine “Monocle” and is the host of The Urbanist, the Monocle 24 radio show dedicated to making better cities.

Andrew is also the editor of The Monocle Book Collection, including The Monocle Guide to Better Living, and the ever-expanding Travel Guide Series. Why does he believe in city rankings and how do cities become listed as the most livable? What are the most important factors in the quality of life?

Prior to joining Monocle, Andrew was the executive editor of the Independent on Sunday newspaper in the UK and also ran their Sunday and Saturday magazines.

Adam Gebrian is a Czech architect, theorist and promoter of architecture. Instead of designing buildings, Adam decided to be on the promoting side of architecture. In 2015, he was awarded the “Architect of the Year” prize for his tireless publishing and discussion activities done in public spaces, aimed at raising awareness of architectural culture.

They met in Prague, at the ESKA restaurant in Karlin.

reSITE is an international nonprofit platform based in Prague. We work at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, politics, culture, and economics. We act as a catalyst for social action and innovative leadership.

We encourage an exchange of ideas about making cities more livable, competitive and resilient. We protect and promote public space, architecture, and sustainable development in cities.

Why? To stimulate action for sustainable urban design and therefore better cities. We stand for public space.
