In this RIBAJ PiP Webinar, we hosted a diverse array of projects and products for Bespoke House Design. Jan-Carlos Kucharek, deputy editor, RIBAJ and editor, PiP hosted our guest speakers.

Julian Owen – Managing Director and founder, Julian Owen Associates Architects and author, Self Build: How to design and build your own home, who provided insights into the legislative context for self and custom build as well as the latest thinking and ideas emerging in the self and custom build market.

Bob Prewett – Director, Prewett Bizley Architects, who delivered a case study presentation on Mews House Deep Retrofit – an extensively refurbished end-terrace mews that has radically improved the house’s carbon footprint, that has provided a low-energy, highly sustainable solution for the owners.
Clara Vicedo Peñarrubia, architect, International Promotion department, ASCER-Tile of Spain who delivered an insightful and beautifully visual talk on ceramics in architecture.

Chris Loyn – Founder and James Stroud – Director, Loyn & Co Architects, who delivered a case study presentation on Private Residence, Swansea – an energy-efficient sustainable home built into the rugged hillside of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the final result having evolved from a collaborative design process with the clients.

Tony Culmer – Director, Maxlight who provided a visual presentation showcasing the complete suite of Maxlight products in bespoke house design.

Mat Barnes – Director, CAN, who delivered a case study presentation on Mountain View – a highly textural and tactile, colourful family home that draws on recycled materials and high-tech architecture to create a very personalised transformation.
