An illustrated and conversational trawl with AACP director Shumon Basar through three decades of Peter Saville’s graphic work, ranging from seminal record covers for Joy Division and New Order to art direction for the cultural image of Manchester.
Peter Saville studied graphic design at Manchester Polytechnic. In 1979 he became a founding partner in Factory Records. Post-Factory clients have included Yohji Yamamoto, Christian Dior and the Whitechapel Gallery.
In 2000, Saville founded SHOWstudio.com with photographer Nick Knight. A major retrospective of his work showed at the Design Museum in 2003.
